Change Your Life with Martial Arts Foreword
Change Your Life with Martial Arts -- Your indispensable introduction to the martial arts. The Foreword was written by Edward J. Jackowski, PhD.
I have been motivating people to exercise since I was six years old. I was fortunate to be one of the better athletes and often was appointed as one of two captains to choose our peers during gym class for numerous team sports. I always chose those less blessed athletically to help them with techniques and discipline that infused them with confidence.
Today, as the CEO of Exude Fitness, the largest motivational and fitness company in the country, I am grateful that my mother encouraged my fitness and monitored my time spent with TV. Her guidance instilled self-confidence, discipline, and the ability to lose graciously and to be a team player without surrendering my individualism and helped me to reach this pinnacle of success.
When parents give support and guidance to youngsters, wonderful things can happen. Every parent should read, keep, and hold forever in their personal possession Linda Davis Kyle's book, Change Your Life with Martial Arts.
I implore you to take the time to learn and to use all the knowledge you can gain from it and to recognize the appreciation that it shares about the martial arts as a way of life. Whether you and your children choose aikido, judo, karate, tai chi, or another art, you will be inspired by the lofty goals that the founders taught and are maintained even now by certified instructors. You will train to build better bodies, minds, and spirits and a sense of well-being that you can apply to every aspect of your own and your children's lives. You will learn about world geography and different cultures and philosophies. Perhaps one of the greatest gifts you will gain will be the ability to focus, to realize your power, and to learn to utilize your power in positive ways.
Kyle's message is clear to understand, and her goal is to empower you and your family to be your best by studying the martial arts of your choice. She doesn't ram down your throat any one system. She merely states the facts and makes you aware that your choices for how you spend your time and energy can be best enhanced through the discipline of the many systems of martial arts--brilliantly outlined in this easy-to-follow guide.
